Igloo Bud Vases and Votives - A local interior designer has recently commissioned Scarlett for several ceramic pieces to complete her latest project. Sixteen Igloo Bud Vases and Votives in four different sizes adorn a new fireplace mantel. The more the merrier...

"Mortal Plush" Opening Reception

July 11, 2009: Opening Night at Art Whino's "Mortal Plush: I Am Not Your Toy" show was a lot of fun. Scarlett and I had a chance to meet some of the other participating artists and enjoy an evening out on the town.

Helicopters and Vultures gave a performance during the evening as well....

"Mortal Plush: I Am Not Your Toy" Exhibit

We're pleased to announce that Scarlett will be participating in the "Mortal Plush: I Am Not Your Toy" show at Art Whino this month. "Mortal Plush..." will include original handmade soft-sculpture works submitted by artists worldwide, each attempting to convey the variety of emotions experienced by their human creators. Below is Scarlett's submission, "You Used To Love Me".

"You Used To Love Me", Scarlett Suhy-Pons, handmade plush figure, approx. 2" diam x 17" length.

Scarlett's inspiration for this piece stems from her perspective on our environment and how our industrialized civilization continues to poison the earth with its refuse. Her worm figure is derived from a sketch that she's been drawing in her sketchbooks and on various public objects since 1999.

Scarlett is happy to announce that her "sister-site", Buttonscarves.com, has launched. Scarlett has been making these one of a kind button-up scarves for two seasons and (after an overwhelming response) decided to make them available to purchase online. December 14th, 2007. We've recovered from last week's "First Friday" excitement and our studio is now filled to the brim with work. I also have paintings on exhibit at Art First Gallery, (824 Caroline Street) this month as part of the Holiday Gala Exhibit.

Scarlettwares Website Updates

We are pleased to announce that as Scarlett's Website reaches into its third year, it has been updated and re-designed to keep up with her progressive ceramic work. New pieces at scarlettwares.com include the Wind Bowl Series, Igloo Bud Vases, and her latest achievement-Ceramic Hanging Birdhouses.
Scarlett also modified her site to include more information about the ceramic classes that she offers as well as birthday parties that she's been throwing at LibertyTown Arts Workshop. In the past months, Scarlett has been offering clay workshops for children who want to have a creative and fun way to celebrate their birthday with friends.

PONSHOP and Scarlettwares at Walker Home: February - March 2007

Scarlett's ceramics and several of my paintings are on exhibit at the Walker Home show room (409 William Street, Fredericksburg) for the months of February and March.
